In the image that I have taken from shoot 2, the image is very overexposed and bright, the flash is on and so mean the whole composition is very intense and ethereal. I took the image close up to just show the just the action of smoking and nothing else, the colours of the jumper and cigarette contrast really well against the overbearing brightness of the subjects skin. The close-up shows how youthful the subject is and almost as though the cigarette is self-destroying and unhealthy.
This image that has been taken is of a young woman with a cigarette in hand blowing out smoke. The photograph has been taken to capture only the action of smoking and the exhaling of smoke. The image is in black and white, which maximizes the tonal contrast. The composition of the shot is very effective as the woman's body takes up the majority of the space. The angle of the shot is looking up which is very effective.
Both images are of young women smoking indoors, smoke is visibly drifting off into the air in both images. The black and white in the second image is very effective as it makes the smoke contrast greatly with the surroundings making it more visible. The first image is quite saturated in light and therefore shadow is cast and the environment is unsure and as it is very unnatural and the second image is very clear and realistic in a low level lighting house. Both images show addiction and the appeal in youth.
